Still Image Originals

Image 1:
At first, I thought this photo was quite good but the closer I look at it, the more out of focus it seems. The image is not very effective and the model isn't positioned correctly.

Image 2:
I really liked the background of this image however, I could not use the photo as it was very out of focus and some other similar photos to this were very blurry, however, I kept the same plan and style of the photo and retook the image in my second photoshoot but positioned my model better to give him a better stance.

Image 3:
To begin with, I thought I could use this image. I liked the background of the image as I thought that the union jack flag and the poster fit in well with my music genre however, I had to change the image as it would look better on a low angle shot and as well as this, I needed my model to look at the camera to make the audience feel included and to give my music magazine a personal feel.

After taking these images and uploading them, I realised they were unsuitable to use on my magazine pages. Many of the photos are out of focus and are blurry with the model not making the reader feel inclusive. As a result of this, I arranged a second photoshoot to take more pictures to improve them. Here are the images from my second photoshoot:

I used this image as my front cover image, as you can tell it looks very different from my front cover image itself. I have cropped the photo quite a lot to frame the artist more and changed the brightness and contrast levels more so the graffiti behind stands out more, to give the image a rural and urban feel that I was aiming to get.

This image was used on my contents page but as a larger image, used as a narrative tease. I had to adjust the levels quite a lot on this image as the lighting was not very good to start with, however, it was not a difficult task to do. As well as editing the brightness, I also cropped the image slightly so there was not as much excess space to the sides of the model.

This image was also used as a smaller image on my contents page. I cropped this image quite a lot as I did not want the top of the model's neck showing as the whole point in this image was to guess who the celebrity mod was in order to win a prize, therefore no clues could be given away. I did not have to edit the levels of this images a lot as the lighting was acceptable to start with.

I used this image of Brandon on my double page spread, it is a similar pose and style to the image taken of my model in the first photoshoot but I had to use a different model as I became aware that I needed more of a variety of images throughout my magazine, this is why I took this image of Brandon. When using photoshop, I had to edit the image's level adjustments in order to make it brighter, I also had to pay quite a lot of attention to Brandon's eyes as his glasses created a shadow which I did not want as dark.

This photo is one of the small photos on my music magazine, I still do not particularly like the photo and it was not planned however, I did not have sufficient photos for my magazine which is why I had to take this last minute. Phillipa (middle) still has her lanyard on and when I uploaded this image in photoshop, I had to edit this out. I cropped the image slightly to get rid of the grass at the bottom of the picture and brightened it also as it looks slightly dull right now.
